Warrington is an ancient settlement on the banks of the River Mersey, a river that has served as a natural boundary for millennia to Celtic tribes, Romans, Vikings, and Anglo-Saxons. The cultures and languages have all left their mark on the town and, indeed, the dialect.

After a break and a trip to see my Dad (who is now recovering from his heart attack), we have a new dialect word of the week.
